KING BILLY'S WHITE HORSE

The myth is that William, who was dressed in gleaming armour, was riding a white horse while his banner bore the words 'God and the Protestant religion'. According to historic records the horse that featured in the Battle Of The Boyne was brown.

When I was young I remember my Grandmother saying as we passed a large house "protestants live in that house" when I asked her how she knew she replied that they have King Billy's horse above the door. I was a bit surprised by Grandmothers's comment as her sister happened to be a Protestant.

LADY GRATTAN MEMORIAL FOUNTAIN AT ST. STEPHEN'S GREEN FEBRUARY 2018

The original installation included two horse troughs [one of which had been replace by a modern copy in 1992. When I last photographed I complained that the horse troughs were missing but I was wrong because I had not noticed that the troughs were relocated further down the street. It should be mentioned that some now claim that the troughs may not have not have been part of the original installation.

THIS CHURCH IS UNIQUE AS IT WAS NAMED AFTER A PUBADAM AND EVE TAVERN

One thing that struck me as odd is that one section of the churched is fenced off ... is it to protect the organ? The organ was built by T.W. Magahy in 1936 using pipework from the old Telford organ there. It was rebuilt in 1996 by Trevor Crowe Ltd. There are around 3,000 pipes in the organ, seventy of which are gilded and incorporated in the casework. It is claimed to be the largest pipe organ in a Catholic church in Dublin and is very highly regarded. Eoin Tierney M.A., B.A. (Mus) was the first organ scholar of Adam and Eve’s Church.

The Wood Quay site was allocated as a proposed headquarters of Dublin City Council in the 1940s but construction did not begin until the early 1980s due to the discovery of the remains of the Viking city.

THE WOOD QUAY WOODEN SCULPTURE BY MICHAEL WARREN

The Wooden Sculpture 'Wood Quay' by Michael Warren outside the offices of Dublin City Council is meant to invoke the prow of a Viking longship.

I am not a fan of the wooden sculpture located outside Dublin City Civic Offices at Wood Quay but now that it has been painted black it looks much better when seen from the North side of the river.

Michael Warren (born 1950 in Gorey, County Wexford, Ireland) is an Irish sculptor who produces site-specific public art.

LONELY BRONZE COW AT WOOD QUAYEXILED FROM WOLFE TONE PARK

This bronze sculpture of a cow was relocated to Wood Quay while Wolfe Tone Park was being redeveloped and while this may be a more pleasant location I would prefer to have it at Wolfe Tone Park as it was very popular with local children and at its current location no one appears to notice it

TRIBUTE TO LUKE KELLYLIFE SIZE BRONZE BY JOHN COLL

Luke Kelly's legacy and contributions to Irish music and culture have been described as "iconic" and have been captured in a number of documentaries and anthologies.

The influence of his Scottish grandmother was influential in Kelly's help in preserving important traditional Scottish songs such as "Mormond Braes", the Canadian folk song "Peggy Gordon", Robert Burns' "Parcel of Rogues", "Tibbie Dunbar", Hamish Henderson's "Freedom Come-All-Ye", and Thurso Berwick's "Scottish Breakaway".

BERNARD VENET217.5º ARC x 12 CORTEN STEEL SCULPTURE

Weathering steel, best-known under the trademark COR-TEN steel and sometimes written without the hyphen as "Corten steel", is a group of steel alloys which were developed to eliminate the need for painting, and form a stable rust-like appearance if exposed to the weather for several years. Corten steel made its first impressive appearance on the world stage in the 1960s when the Finnish-American architect Eero Saarinen used it to create a four-building complex for the John Deere headquarters in Moline, Illinois.
