Bowes Lounge is an established licence premises since 1880, they are situated in the heart of Dublin's fair city, just a stones throw away from the famous Irish landmark Trinity College.

An application to merge Bowes pub the Irish Yeast Company building on College St was turned down by DCC last February. The two buildings, along with the nearby Doyle’s bar are all owned by businessman, Declan Doyle. The Irish Yeast Company - was sold last year for a reported €850,000 after its owner John Moreland had passed away.

John Moreland was born in 1924 and managed the Irish Yeast Company, on College Street, the main purveyor of yeast and bakery products in Ireland for the early 20th. century in Ireland
