THE HISTORY OF THE RAMADA ENCORE

The Ramada by Wyndham Belfast City Centre, located on Talbot Street in Belfast (not Dunbar Street as previously stated), has a relatively recent history.

Construction and Opening: The hotel was built on a site that was previously a vacant lot. Construction began in 2008 and the hotel officially opened its doors in April 2010 as the Ramada Encore Belfast City Centre. It was designed as a modern, budget-friendly hotel aimed primarily at business travellers and tourists.

Ownership Changes: The hotel has undergone a few changes in ownership and branding throughout its history. It was initially owned and operated by the Ramada Encore brand, which is part of the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts group. In 2016, the hotel was sold to a new owner, but it continued to operate under the Ramada Encore name until 2021.

Rebranding: In 2021, the hotel underwent a rebranding and refurbishment process. It was renamed Ramada by Wyndham Belfast City Centre, reflecting the broader Wyndham brand identity. This rebranding also involved upgrading the hotel's facilities and amenities.

Current Ownership: As of 2024, the hotel is owned and operated by Andras Hotels, a leading hotel management company in Northern Ireland. Andras Hotels manages several other hotels in Belfast and across Northern Ireland.
