LOWER GRANGEGORMAN [IS CHANGING AT A RAPID PACE]

Lower Grangegorman and nearby is now changing at a rapid pace.

In July 2016 a group of people who unlawfully re-occupied the site of a planned student accommodation project in Dublin [Lower Grangegorman - Brunswick Street] have been given 21 days to leave by a High Court judge. Since then the student accommodation has become operational.

Further up the road was a terrace of unoccupied house and as you can see from my photographs they are in the process of being demolished but I do not know if they are to be replaced by new housing bout I doubt it.

Grangegorman is located in the Dublin 7 postal district, north of the River Liffey and about 1 km from Dublin city centre, and its boundaries run, approximately, along Brunswick Street North, Prussia Street and Manor Street, the North Circular Road and Phibsborough Road and Constitution Hill. Grangegorman is surrounded to the south east by Smithfield to the west by Stoneybatter, north by Cabra, to the north and east by Phibsborough / Broadstone.
