COBH RAILWAY STATION
Opened on 10 March 1862, the railway station was a vital artery for the bustling port of Queenstown. It played a crucial role in the mass emigration from Ireland during the 19th and early 20th centuries. Millions of Irish people passed through this station on their way to board ships in search of a new life in North America and other parts of the world. The station's red-brick building, now partially occupied by the Cobh Heritage Centre, bears silent witness to these emotional farewells.
