I had forgotten about the new bank holiday and was wondering why the trams and railway stations were so busy. Because of the congested public transport I decide to walk to the Irish Museum Of Modern Art to see if there anything of interest I also decide to rely on my iPhone 12 Pro Max rather than a heavy camera.
From 2023, there is a new annual public holiday in early February to mark St Brigid’s Day here in Ireland. The public holiday is the first Monday in February, except where St Brigid’s day (1 February) happens to fall on a Friday, in which case that Friday 1 February will be a public holiday.
On a public holiday, sometimes called a bank holiday, most businesses and schools close. Other services (for example, public transport) still operate but often have restricted schedules.

Weathering steel, best-known under the trademark COR-TEN steel and sometimes written without the hyphen as “Corten steel”, is a group of steel alloys which were developed to eliminate the need for painting, and form a stable rust-like appearance if exposed to the weather for several years. Corten steel made its first impressive appearance on the world stage in the 1960s when the Finnish-American architect Eero Saarinen used it to create a four-building complex for the John Deere headquarters in Moline, Illinois.
