Anna Donovan works as a ceramics and mixed media artist with a studio in Conway Mill, Belfast, Northern Ireland. Her work ranges from figurative sculpture to jewellery with pots in between.
The human figure is the main form from which her pieces evolve.

This was really difficult to photograph especially using an iPhone so I used different filters to see what detail could be extracted. I will return next week and make another attempt to photograph this.
Imní is a word unknown to me but I have forgotten much of my Irish: A conflation of Middle Irish imṡním (“(great) anxiety, grief”), from im- + sním, and Old Irish imned (“sorrow, tribulation”).
Unfortunately I know nothing about this artist other than the fact that I always look forward to seeing his work on display in the Botanic Gardens every September.

I have always liked Conleth’s sculptures.
Conleth Gent was born in Newbridge, Co. Kildare and studied at U.C.D. University College Dublin. His love of wood and working with wood can be clearly seen in each of his unique pieces. He is concerned mainly with personal expression through the use of figurative elements and occasionally abstract forms. His approach is individualistic, communicating something of the character of the particular piece of wood and his interaction and relationship with it.
