THE HORSE SHOE AT 85 CAPEL STREET

THE HORSE SHOE [THERE IS OF COURSE A ASSOCIATED STORY]

Every building in Dublin has a story.

I passed this shop every day for many years and did not even know what was on sale inside but in December 2012 I decided to photograph it as it did stand out.

Only a few days ago [March 2021] that it was owned by John Kelly a well known musician.

Fiddle and concertina player John Kelly was born in West Clare in 1921 but moved to Dublin in 1945, where he opened a shop on Capel Street. He was a central figure in the music scene in Dublin from then until his death in 1988. Until the 1960s he and his family lived above the shop and then he made a big move across the street to 83 Capel Street.

I USE THIS AND IT IS ALREADY FULL

One of the biggest ongoing problems that I have is storage and the problems gets worse by the year. 4 Years ago I purchased two LaCie 8TB thunder bolt drives and eighteen months later I purchased a 12TB drive and then in August of 2019 I needed a 20TB unit and it is already full. I do have an aggressive backup policy which does require a lot of storage so i suppose that I should not be surprised. I should mention that I use Amazon Photos and currently am using 12TB of online storage.

I REALLY DO NEED A SOLUTION
