A sculpture to honour past and present members of the emergency services is on display in Limerick.
The sculpture was designed by Limerick arts student Michelle Perera and unveiled by Limerick Mayor Jim Long at Curragour Park at the city's Clancy strand. He said the memorial was a fitting tribute to honour the men and women who have served in the full-time and volunteer emergency services throughout Limerick city and county.
Mr Long said these volunteers gave the best years of their lives to the job.
“It will provide a place to reflect on the service given to our communities during a time of great need, and a place of remembrance for those who have fallen or perished while carrying out their duties," he added.
