GRANGE ABBEY IN DONAGHMEAD

I was aware of this site but I was not sure of its exact location but today, while travelling on the new H1 bus route, I noticed the old church from upstairs in the bus so I got off at the next stop and took the opportunity to take some photographs

Grange Abbey is a ruined chapel on the former Grange of Baldoyle lands, in the townland of Baldoyle, now in Donaghmede, at the northern edge of Dublin.

The Priory of All Hallows (or All Saints) was founded by the King of Leinster, Diarmuid MacMurrough in 1166.

In addition to some minor restoration work carried out in 1986 two sculptures flanking the entrance to the site have been added. These sculptures depict King Diarmuid MacMurrough and the Priory of All Hallows in one panel, and the priory monks going about their duties in the other.
