THOMAS DAVIS STATUE AND FOUNTAIN

THOMAS DAVIS STATUE AND FOUNTAIN BY EDWARD DELANEY [NO WATER TO BE SEEN]

When it was unveiled in 1966 this was described as follows: "The sculpture by Edward Delaney features a figure of Thomas Davis facing Trinity College and a fountain featuring four bronze figures who blow water through trumpets."

Now in 2020, I fail to understand why water features are installed throughout the city and then in most cases the water supply is switched off. However, to be fair the fountain paired with Davis statue on Dame Street was, until recently, one the few fully functioning water features in the city but as you can see from my photographs there is no water. Maybe maintenance work is planned
