STREET ART AT LIBERTY LANE - ONE OF THE LAST REMAINING GRAFFITI LANES

STREET ART AT LIBERTY LANE

STREET ART ON LIBERTY LANE [ONE OF THE FEW GRAFFITI LANES REMAINING IN THE CITY CENTRE]

Early in May I visited this lane but had to cut my visit short as I had attracted some unwelcome attention from a man on a bicycle. Fortunately a number of Deliveroo delivery staff arrived on their bicycles but he still followed me at a distance for about ten minutes.

I studied Electronics Engineering at Kevin Street College in 1967-1970 and I remember that one of my fellow students telling me that Liberty Lane originally went from Kevin Street to the Grand Canal in Portobello. Today it is not much more than a service alleyway connecting Kevin Street to Camden Row but it does feature lots of street art and graffiti.

Note: The Kevin Street colleges has been in the area since 1887 but it has recently been relocated to the new TU campus in Grangegorman.
