2017: AVALON CAFE

AVALON CAFE [ NORTH CIRCULAR ROAD - SYNNOTT ROW ]

Many people may be unaware but the North Inner City is well served be good cafes and coffee shops.

I have not visited this restaurant but people do appear to like it and if I get a chance I will give it a try within the next few weeks.

There is also an Avalon Restaurant at 89 Morehampton Road on the other side of the city but I am assuming that they are not connected. There is also a cafe at Avalon House on Camden Street.

I noticed a sign, the third in twenty four hours, for Marley Coffee. Until this week I was unaware of this brand so I visited their site which featured the following this message

“BOB MARLEY CAME FROM THE FARMLAND OF NINE MILE. THERE, HE LEARNED A DEEP RESPECT FOR NATURE AND HUMANITY THAT HELPED GUIDE HIS LIFE. WITH EVERY SIP YOU SHARE A PIECE OF THAT DREAM. ONE LOVE.”

While I was photographing this cafe there was near me a gentleman dressed in what I would describe in Rastafarian style and he was shouting at the cars as they passed but he took a break and he offered me something that I could not accept … it definitely was not Marley Coffee. Dublin was always noted for ‘characters’ [the Diceman, Forty Coats and Bang Bang, to name but a few ] maybe this gentleman will be added to the list.

At the Capel Street side of Grattan Bridge there is some street art [Dublin Canvas Programme] dedicated to the Characters Of Dublin.
