ST. JOSEPH'S BERKELEY ROAD

Sometimes when I photograph the interior of a church it upsets someone who happens to be in the church at the time so I usually try to wait until I am alone. Today a gentleman, who I had not noticed, got upset because I was taking photographs on behalf of the taxman and coming up with a good response to that is not at all easy. I eventually convinced him that I had been employed to re-paint the church and I was trying to decide what colours to use and in return I got a lot advice about decorating churches. No doubt the parish priest will have to explain to the locals that he is not planning to re-paint the interior of the church.

The name of this church is St. Joseph's Carmelite Church Berkeley Road but it is actually on Berkeley Street which is very close to a wonderful public park at Blessington Street Basin. There are two DublinBike docking stations near the church.

This attractive church will only appeal if you are religious as there is little of interest for someone who is more interested in history or old buildings. If you are nearby you should pay a visit.

UPDATE: I recently discovered that one end of the street is Berkeley Road while the other end is Berkeley Street.
