DOCKERS MONUMENT IN LIMERICK

SORRY FOR THE DELAY
In 2010 former dockers, their families and descendants were invited to the official unveiling of the monument by Mayor Kiely on Friday, June 18 when they were presented with booklets detailing the history of Limerick Docks and the dockers.

Limerick born artist Michael Duhan was selected to make a permanent tribute to the Limerick Dockers, as his father was a docker and worked on ships. The dockers performed one of the most difficult and challenging ways to earn a living in the City.

This life size bronze sculpture reflects with honesty and integrity the physical work and the camaraderie that existed between the Dockers.
