THE MILLENNIUM BRIDGE

According the official guide “The Millennium Bridge marks Trim’s status as a modern town and connects the centre to the porchfields and walks along the banks of the Boyne”. I fail to understand how a wooden footbridge can impact on the status of a town such as Trim but I do like the bridge and it is a very useful piece of infrastructure.

There’s a well known joke about a tourist in Ireland who asks one of the locals for directions . The Irishman replies: ‘Well sir, if I were you, I wouldn’t start from here’. However, in the case of the the Millennium Bridge it is in fact a good place to begin a journey
