The East Quad is the first TU Dublin building that you come across after alighting from the LUAS at the new Broadstone plaza that connects to the University via an open, paved walkway.
The main building has an impressive range of facilities. Aside from its suite of classrooms, workshops, studios, and informal learning spaces, East Quad also boasts a 400 seat Concert Hall, a Black Box theatre, a Recital Hall, and a café. The open and inclusive design that runs through the building, with large and spacious atriums, helps to connect the different learning areas in a bright and welcoming environment.
There is also the Printmaking Workshop which I like. The single storey steel framed building was designed by Scullion Architects in association with Plus Architecture and details a saw-tooth profile roof structure with integrated windows at each section and roof solar panels. The light filled internal space provides teaching and technical support spaces associated with print making and screen printing for the Technological University Dublin’s School of Creative Arts.
Clongriffin railway station is a station at the western edge of Clongriffin on the northern section of the (DART), also accessible from Myrtle Avenue in Baldoyle and also serving other parts of northern Donaghmede, and Balgriffin.
