Replica Of The Pádraic Ó Conaire Statue [Eyre Square In Galway]
This bronze replica of a statue by sculptor Albert Power was unveiled at Eyre Square towards the end of 2017.
For many years the original sculpture of the Connemara writer was a popular attraction in Galway. Unfortunately, vandals decapitated the statue in 1999 and soon afterwards it was decided to relocate it to the Galway City Museum.
Using the original drawings and models from the archive of sculptor Albert Power the bronze replica was cast over two years in Dublin.
