When I was younger many of my friends ended up buying homes in the Stoneybatter area of Dublin and most of them still live there and have no interest in selling up and moving on.
As I live off Henrietta street I am very familiar with Stonebatter and visit the area on a regular basis [almost every day] but I was a bit surprised to discover that it is now rated as "Ireland's Coolest Neighbourhood" taking the 40th spot on the list, and ranked ahead of neighbourhoods in Prague, Budapest and Hong Kong.
I suspect that the development of the very large college campus in Grangegorman is having a very large impact on Stoneybatter and nearby. It should be noted that Fingal Lane connects Prussia Street to the College Campus [a local told me that the gate is closed at 6PM every day].
