This popular local pub was established in 1889 on the corner of Monck Place and Phibsborough Road. However, as I am more inclined to visit restaurants rather than pubs I have never been inside this pub even though it happens to be about a ten minute walk from my home.
The 100th year celebration, 16 January 2022, of the handing over of Dublin Castle by the British to the Free State was a very low key event but I decided that it might be a good idea to visit and photograph the memorial plaques.
