MATERIAL REFLECTIONS BY KEN DREW 01-08/09/2025
rew's artistic practice is characterised by a profound engagement with materials and a recurring inspiration drawn from the natural world. He works with a diverse palette of materials, including wood, aluminium, copper, bronze, and polished concrete, creating a body of work that ranges from intimate studio pieces to large-scale outdoor sculptures. A recurring theme in his art is the exploration of natural growth patterns and organic forms. A notable example of this is his work "Growth Spiral," which draws its sinuous form from the botanical phenomenon of phototropism, the movement of a plant in response to light.
