OK WHAT IS THE DELAY

November 20, 2023 by infomatique

TRAINS WERE RUNNING LATE AT PEARSE STATION

I had to cancel an appointment so I ended up at Pearse Railway Station and I had plenty of spare time so I photographed some trains arriving at the station and some trains leaving in both directions.

TRAM CROSSING PHIBSBORO ROAD

November 9, 2023 by infomatique

AT BROADSTONE – CONSTITUTION HILL

Broadstone is one of the three neighbourhoods that make up present-day Phibsboro in Dublin, Ireland. The most southerly of these, it begins just two kilometres north of Father Mathew Bridge at Ormond Quay. The area is triangular, bounded by Phibsborough Road and Constitution Hill to the West, North Circular Road to the north, and Dorset Street and Bolton Street to the south-east. The postal district for the area is Dublin 7.

Built in 1968, Constitution Hill Flats consists of three five-storey blocks, containing 89 homes in total. The site is located along Constitution Hill, with the recently opened Broadstone Plaza to the north, Catherine Lane North at the southern end, and a Dublin Bus Depot to the west with the Grangegorman TU Dublin campus beyond. The complex also sits in a setting flanked by historic buildings: the Kings Inns and Broadstone Station.

VIDEO OF BROADSTONE TRAM STOP

November 7, 2023 by infomatique

I USED A DJI POCKET 3

The Broadstone tram stop is located on the Luas Green Line, which runs through the city centre of Dublin. The stop is served by trams in both directions, and it is a popular connection for people traveling to and from the Grangegorman University Campus.

The Broadstone tram stop was opened in 2017, as part of the Luas Cross City project. The project extended the Green Line north from St. Stephen’s Green to Broombridge, and it included the construction of a new tram stop at Broadstone.

The Broadstone tram stop is a modern, accessible facility, and it is equipped with ticket machines, seating, and a waiting shelter. The stop is also located close to a number of bus stops, making it a convenient connection for people using public transportation. It is also my local tram stop which I use almost daily in preference to the Dominick Street tram stop.

DUBLINBIKES DOCKING STATION 42

SMITHFIELD PLAZA OR SQUARE – CHOOSE WHICH YOU PREFER

Every time I research this specific location I am informed that Smithfield Square is an up-and-coming area on Dublin’s Northside and after almost twenty it becomes tedious.

Recent commercial, residential and cultural developments led to the area becoming newly fashionable in the first decade of the 21st century. However, most notably in the period 2008 to 2010, stagnation set in as developments stalled and the Irish economy/property market nose-dived once the post-Celtic Tiger economic recession struck. The significant issues of variable apartment occupancy rates, coupled with closed retail spaces and a number of unfinished and unoccupied commercial units at Smithfield Market have created a highly visible reminder of the economic and community challenges still to be addressed in this historic part of Dublin.

Several hotels are situated in Smithfield Square itself. The biggest is the 3-star Maldron Hotel Smithfield, with 92 rooms, from junior suites to family rooms. The well-known European accommodation chain Generator is adjacent to Jameson Distillery Bow St, and the newest addition is The Hendrick, which opened in 2019. All three hotels also have their own bars and restaurants.
