GLASNEVIN JUNE 2023
There is a railway foot bridge that connects the school with Claude Road which I did not explore today.
Lindsay Road National School is a primary school in Glasnevin and it opened in 1910. It is co-educational, and as of 2016 had 6 teachers, including 4 mainstream classes. The Schools Patrons are representatives of the Presbyterian Church. The school has merged with a number of Protestant faith schools over the years, such as the Methodist School on Clonliffe Road.
The school is a feeder school for Mount Temple Comprehensive School. In case you are unaware Mount Temple was the school where the rock band U2 was formed. In September 1976, 14-year-old drummer Larry Mullen, Jr. posted a notice on the school’s noticeboard, looking for fellow musicians. All four members of U2 are former pupils of the school.
The School Zone Pencil Bollards are provided by Shergan Traffic Solutions based in Mullingar Co Westmeath.
