The Cherrywood Luas stop is a key transport hub located in DĂșn LaoghaireâRathdown, South Dublin. It is a crucial piece of infrastructure within one of Ireland's largest urban developments.
Opened in October 2010, the stop is part of the southern extension of the Luas Green Line, which runs from Broombridge (or Parnell in the city centre) to Brides Glen. Cherrywood is the penultimate stop on the line, situated between Laughanstown and the terminus at Brides Glen.

The stop's primary function is to serve the Cherrywood Strategic Development Zone (SDZ). This is a major, long-term project planned to create a new, self-sufficient town with thousands of new homes, extensive commercial and retail space, new schools, and large public parks.
The Luas stop is at the very heart of this new "town centre". It was built in anticipation of this development, and recent years have seen a massive acceleration in construction, with large-scale apartment complexes (such as those by Hali, Hines, and Quintain) and office blocks now surrounding the station.
It provides a vital public transport link for the thousands of new residents and the employees at the established Cherrywood Science and Technology Park, connecting them directly to other major employment hubs like Sandyford, Central Park, and Dublin City Centre (St. Stephen's Green) in approximately 35-40 minutes.
