NO ACCESS TO THE TOILETS

THE PUBLIC TOILETS WERE CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC ABOUT FIFTEEN YEARS AGO

There used to be public toilets on Infirmary Road in Phoenix Park. The toilets were located near the playground and were a convenient facility for park users. However, due to persistent vandalism and anti-social behaviour, Dublin City Council closed them down over 15 years ago.

In recent years, there have been discussions and questions raised in the Irish parliament about the possibility of refurbishing and reopening the toilets. The Office of Public Works (OPW), which manages Phoenix Park, has indicated its willingness to work with Dublin City Council to explore this option. However, as of now, there are no concrete plans to reinstate the public toilets on Infirmary Road.

While the closure of the toilets was unfortunate, it's important to note that there are several other toilet facilities available within Phoenix Park. These are located near the visitor centre, the Papal Cross, and the Polo Grounds. The OPW ensures that these facilities are open during daylight hours and are regularly cleaned and maintained.
