IS ACTUALLY AT THE RIGHTHAND SIDE OF THIS PHOTOGRAPH
Many Corkonians recommended what they referred to as a green oasis at the front of a house on South Douglas Road.
Back in August 2021 main reason for wanting to walk along South Douglas Road was the photograph the house that was famous because of its garden. On my second day in the city I decided to get a bus to Douglas but the bus broke down so I decided to take the opportunity to walk to the village thus giving me the opportunity to explore South Douglas Road and I failed to find the house in question. Today I was reviewing my photographs and discovered that one random photograph actually included the garden that I was trying to locate and what is even more annoying is that is located close the the Half Moon Bridge where I began my walk towards the Village of Douglas.
The garden is maintained by Neil Kelleher, and his mother before him, Kitty Kelleher. The garden was started by Kitty Kelleher in the 1930s.
