STREET ART BY HUARIU FROM PORTUGAL LOCATED ON HIGH STREET WATERFORD CITY
Born in 1992, Portugal, HUARIU revealed himself as s street artist in 2014. It all began at age 8 when an attraction for graffiti arose, which lead him to paint with spray cans one year later. He then started photographing and replicating on paper every graffiti piece he came across, to the point where he absorbed sufficient information to start creating his own pieces.
At 15 years of age, he stopped painting and started skateboarding. At 18, he qualified as a tennis coach to support his skateboarding life. Three years later he abandoned the profession and soon after, a friend who was already established in painting commercial works asked him if he would be interested in helping out. HUARIU became his apprentice and quickly begun working for himself. He started developing his own style, using only black and white and various combinations of straight lines.
Due to his fascination for other cultures, HUARIU uses photographs of aboriginal, Arab, Hindu, Buddhist and African people, among others, as inspiration for his works. His paintings are focused in transmitting beauty, emotion and mystery.
