I have never been inside this pub so know very little about it.

Back in 1997 the Findlater Lounge, Dorset Street, Dublin 1, was sold prior to auction. It is understood the pub made in excess of the guide price of £380,000.

Maxwell Road is frequently described as being midway between the villages of Rathgar and Rathmines. It is off Frankfort Avenue which is in Rathgar but my grandmother, who lived on Frankfort Avenue, considered Maxwell Road to be lower on the social scale as it was, in her opinion, in Rathmines. My grandmother did mention that a famous gentleman known as "God On A Bike" lived on Maxwell Road.

Today I surprised myself when I discovered that I was in Rathfarnham Village. I must admit that I had thought that the area surrounding the Yellow House Pub was Rathfarnham Village. I was in Bushy Park and left it via the new pedestrian bridge bridge which lead to Dodder View Road. I looked up and noticed a church tower at the top of the hill across the road and as I did not know what church it was I decided to investigate. I walked up Church Lane only to arrive at the main street in Rathfarnham, a street that I have never visited before.
