UNION STREET – DONEGALL STREET
I decided to visit Belfast not long before the Brexit Referendum so you may notice a lot of political posters. During my visit I spoke to many people and almost all (Nationalists and Unionists) told me that they planned to vote leave and as a result I returned home feeling very concerned about the outcome as I was convinced that the decision would be to leave the EU. I was shocked. One Nationalist working in my hotel told me that he was going to vote leave as a protest as he believed that the British Government had already decide the result and that it was to remain. As you may already know a majority of voters in Northern Ireland voted to remain but the UK as a whole voted to leave.
The people at the Maverick use the following description: “A radical alternative at the heart of Belfast’s Queer Quarter, The Maverick is open 7 nights a week with free entertainment”.
