WE ARE MAKING PROGRESS AND VIDEO CONTENT IS ON THE WAY

Project Evolution & Infrastructure

In May 2025, our documentation archives transitioned from the legacy Infomatique identity to The Urban Cartographer—a name that reflects our focus on recording Ireland’s built spaces and street culture.

Simultaneously, we began phasing out shared hosting providers (including WP Engine) to create an ad-free, self-sustained publishing environment. This migration initially stalled updates across our headless WordPress installations, leaving sites readable but static, while storage and bandwidth limits constrained plans for video integration.

Current Progress & Next Steps

Platform Delivery: The headless WordPress pipeline has been fully resolved. Testing is now actively proceeding on the new headless Urban Expression platform.

Video Delivery: A robust technical solution for video streaming and hosting is established.

  • We believe that we have a solution for the presentation Video but we still need to decide what content would be best and how best produce it. We have a DJI Pocket 3 but we are considering upgrading to the Pocket 4P mainly as it has 1 TB of storage. We do have other options such as the Sony FX30 but we currently lack experience.

*(Note regarding hardware: The DJI Osmo Pocket 4 Pro features approximately 107 GB of high-speed onboard memory alongside expandable microSD storage up to 1 TB, rather than 1 TB of built-in internal flash.)
