It was built in 1996 with funding from Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Governor of Dubai and Minister of Finance and Industry in the United Arab Emirates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ICCI is located on a 3.5-acre site in Clonskeagh, a suburb of Dublin. The complex includes a mosque, a Muslim national school, a sports hall, a library, an exhibition hall, an information center, offices, a women&#8217;s education and social centre, a shop, a restaurant, eight apartments, and a mortuary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The mosque is the largest in Ireland, and can accommodate up to 2,000 worshippers. It is a traditional Islamic design, with a large dome and four minarets. The school is a co-educational institution that caters to children from pre-school to sixth class. The sports hall is used for a variety of activities, including soccer, basketball, and volleyball.
