Judge Roy Beans in Newbridge is part of a small chain of restaurants in Ireland. It’s an American-style bar and restaurant known for its burgers, wings, and cocktails.

The name “Judge Roy Bean” originates from a real historical figure. Phantly Roy Bean, Jr., often referred to as “Judge Roy Bean,” was a colorful and controversial figure in the American Old West. He was a saloon-keeper and self-proclaimed “Law West of the Pecos” who held court in his saloon in Langtry, Texas, during the late 19th century.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

His reputation as a “hanging judge” is somewhat exaggerated, but he was known for his eccentric rulings and unconventional legal practices. The restaurant chain likely adopted the name to evoke the spirit of the Wild West and add a touch of Americana to its brand.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
