TWO EXAMPLES AT THE HUNT MUSEUM IN LIMERICK<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I like these two horses \u2026 what about you?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Early in September 2014 the project began when creative horses sculptures were put on display in a local public park for Culture Night and remained there until the end of the month when they were relocated to different parts of Limerick.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The innovative and highly interactive public art project engaged with schools, youth groups and other organisations to create the horses, under the tutelage of Limerick artist and educator Angela Connolly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key to the project, was locating two “Horse Outside” sculptures at the Hunt Museum as on ongoing celebration of Limerick\u2019s horse culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Rubberbandits released their hit single \u201cHorse Outside\u201d in late 2010 and the sendup of local traveller horse culture went viral on YouTube with over 1.5 million views in five days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you\u2019re lookin\u2019 for a ride I\u2019ve got a horse outside.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Horse Outside\u201d provided an exaggerated account of the urban equine culture that has persisted in Limerick and other disadvantaged communities across Ireland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
